प्रदेश में शिक्षा क्रांति: दो नए विश्वविद्यालय स्थापना के लिए कैबिनेट में प्रस्ताव
उत्तराखंड में वर्तमान में पांच राज्य विश्वविद्यालय और इनसे संबद्ध 118 महाविद्यालय हैं। जबकि 26 निजी विश्वविद्यालय, 244 निजी महाविद्यालय और 21 अशासकीय महाविद्यालय हैं। अब दो अलग-अलग नए विश्वविद्यालय खोले जाने की तैयारी है।
प्रदेश में दो अलग-अलग नए विश्वविद्यालय खोले जाने की तैयारी है। उच्च शिक्षा मंत्री डॉ.धन सिंह रावत के मुताबिक कौशल आधारित विवि और नेताजी सुभाष चंद्र बोस आवासीय विद्यालयों के बच्चों के लिए आवासीय विश्वविद्यालय खोला जाना है। इसके लिए कैबिनेट में प्रस्ताव लाया जाएगा।
नए खुलने वाले कौशल आधारित विश्वविद्यालय में 25 व्यावसायिक कोर्स शुरु किए जाएंगे। जिससे युवाओं को रोजगार के अवसर मिलेंगे। जबकि आवासीय विश्वविद्यालय माध्यमिक शिक्षा विभाग के नेताजी सुभाष चंद्र बोस आवासीय विद्यालयों के बच्चों और अन्य बेसहारा बच्चों के लिए होगा। आवासीय विवि की स्थापना से ये बच्चे उच्च शिक्षा प्राप्त कर सकेंगे।
